Re: Flying At Sea

"The lower lands are a dangerous place! People can just come and go, its unregulated!" Fynn said, exasperated. "At least in Caelum Ventus, its a process to be allowed into the city."

"Caelum Ventus can be just as dangerous as anywhere else. You know this better than anyone, Fynn." Ellwen said pointedly before turning to Isil once more, leaving Fynn to huff and look away. "Would it be helpful if you were to receive feathers like this more often?" He asked curiously.

"Do you not know of walls?" Reyjna teased, smirking at how frustrated Fynn was getting. It was just like riling Isil up, really. "Or gates? Moats? Armed guards?"

Realizing that their friend would not be silenced, Isil let all of their attention focus of Ellwen. "Oh! Oh, yes, but I don't want your wings to go bald because of me,"

Fynn scoffed and glared at Reyjna. "Sure, sure, the walls will protect you from danger here. It's far easier to get inside the towns of the low lands than it is to get into Caelum Ventus." He said, his feathers puffing up the more frustrated he got with Reyjna. "You just can't compare the safety of Caelum Ventus to anywhere down here."

"Oh, don't worry about that. I know a few people who would be willing to donate their shed feathers, I can even convince Fynn to do so." Ellwen chuckled, glancing to his friend, amused by how frustrated he was getting. "He just doesn't like leaving Caelum Ventus, don't mind him."

"Oh? But we're far more used to danger. And I'm sure that since your sky city is so hard to reach, only the most dangerous make it there." Reyjna grinned, honestly only continuing the argument because it amused her how frustrated Fynn was getting. "Walls keep lesser threats out, guards do the rest. And, most folk down here know how to actually defend themselves, instead of relying on boundaries."

Isil nodded, now more amused at Reyjna and Fynn than anything else. Of course she would zero in on the easiest person to annoy. "I can understand, I don't like leaving home much, either. And I appreciate that, greatly; I haven't been able to make very much money lately- this will certainly boost business,"

"That's-that's-!" Fynn huffed, flustered, before he was interrupted by Ellwen.

"That's not far from the truth." Ellwen interjected, holding up his right arm and revealing it to be a magical prosthetic. "There has been a lot of danger in Caelum Ventus. The past few years have changed that, but we've both been on the receiving end of how dangerous it can be." He said, giving Fynn a pointed look that had the other looking away. "Now, I feel this argument has gone on long enough, even with how entertaining Fynn gets when flustered." He said, smiling with ease.

"I agree. We were going to see about gathering more ingredients, right, Reyjna?" Isil prodded their friend, figuring that Ellwen and Fynn had more places to visit. "Thank you, again, for everything. Ellwen, yes? I hope we'll be seeing more of you down here?"

Reyjna grumbled and rolled her eyes, but just nodded as Isil spoke. "Well, if you two are gonna be in town, the Drunken Seagull has good food and rooms for rent. Safest pub in town, too."

"Good, good, we'll head there." Ellwen said with a smile, reaching out and taking Isil's hand to kiss the back of it. "I'll be coming around again, yes. I'll be delivering those feathers, after all. Speaking of, where would be a good place to deliver the feathers?"

"Oh, ah, yes. Um." Isil fumbled a little when Ellwen kissed the back of their hand, ears turning pink from the absolutely pleased smirk suddenly plastered on Reyjna's face. "Saltwater Potions- my shop, you can come by my shop, it's the last building on the far side of the docks. I have a flat, if I'm not in the store, there's a door around the back,"

"It's easy to find, just look for the only blue building next to a bunch of dull grey ones." Reyjna was there, then, leaning against the back of their chair, already turning them towards the beaches. "Wonderful to meet you! Hope you like Lily's, it can get kinda rowdy on festivals!"

As soon as they were out of earshot, she was leaning even closer to the siren, whispering in their ear. "Ooooh, someone just got a crush~"

Ellwen rose his arm in a wave, smiling brightly. "I cannot wait till we next meet!" He called after the two of them before turning to a scowling Fynn.

"You shouldn't have offered feather delivery." Fynn said, shaking his head. "Coming here was supposed to be a one time thing, Ellwen."

"C'mon, live a little! I don't want to be stuck in Caelum Ventus forever, I haven't had a chance to explore the world, see the sights, maybe find love along the way, who knows!"

"You're insufferable," Fynn said with a sigh, shaking his head. "You're lucky I enjoy your company."

"You love me, you know it." Ellwen said with a grin, throwing an arm and a wing over Fynn's shoulder. "Now c'mon, I want to drink until I can't walk!" He said with a laugh before dragging Fynn towards the Drunken Seagull.

Re: Flying At Sea

"Do. Not. Say. Anything." Isil hissed at their friend as she led the both of them down a quiet dirt path that led into the woods. Just a little ways down was a small beach, perfectly still and empty as it always was. Something about sharks or jellyfish or something wrong with the water, but then land-dwellers were always afraid of the depths.

"Oh, but why not? You hardly ever come out of your little lair, this could be good for you!" Reyjna teased, stopping when they reached the sand to help Isil stand and walk to the waters' edge. "Think you'll come with me this time?"

"You know I won't."

"I know, I know. Still doesn't hurt to try and change your mind now and then," The selkie sighed, but sat her friend in the sand just shy of the water, kicked off her shoes, and slipped into the calm waters. "The usual ingredients?"

"Yes, and clam shells, if you can find any,"

-------------

Aetrin grumbled unhappily as he sat in his usual seat at the bar, hating how utterly packed the Drunken Seagull was with loud, smelly creatures. Humans, orcs, trolls, didn't matter; he hadn't trusted any non-Fae since Lily, straight hating anyone that looked at him too long or tried to get a glance under his cloak. He nursed his drink, watching as his only friend for miles around worked herself into a stupor.

"Hey! You break table or chair, you pay for it with your head! Take it outside!!" Two rowdy customers were tossed out the door like they weighed nothing, a large, imposing figure keeping them from coming right back in. "This is MY bar, you follow MY rules!"

Despite himself, Aetrin smiled and snorted in amusement. It was always fun watching the big girl pick men up like they were pillows.
