Re: Keeping Demons is Dangerous for Your Health

The daemon just growled, muffled Lycan curses and insults streaming forth as frost completely encapsulated the muzzle. He shook his head and just continued to fight with the straight-jacket, a whip-like tail slipping free to thump on the carriage seat erratically.

After a solid minute of futile struggling, the daemon gave up, snorting out frost with each pant and glaring at Daria.

Daria just watched with a smirk on her face, waiting until the daemon had finished struggling before leaning forward. "If you are good for me, I will let you out of that pesky straight-jacket." She hummed, holding one hand up in front of the daemon. "However, if you are not," her hand lit up with flames so hot the fire was blue. "I will make you suffer." She said, her voice cool and collected as she spoke. "Now, I'm going to remove that muzzle, but if you try anything I will make you regret it."

The daemon jerked back at the flames, eyes going wide. Reluctantly, he forced himself still; wanting nothing more than to scream and bite but terrified of being burned. He would just have to be clever with his escape, that was all. Bide his time until there was an opening; the thought of freezing her with his breath was still a tempting one though.

He gave a slow nod to show he understood, claws flexing anxiously in their sleeves as he forced down his fury. In a muffled, slightly thick accent, he spoke; "Understood."

"So you can speak our language." Daria said with a smirk before undoing the muzzle and pulling it off. "There we go, much better." She said, grabbing the daemon's chin with the hand that had been covered in fire, though now it was just very warm instead of being on fire. "What should I call you, hmm?"

The daemon stiffened at the touch and bared his teeth in frustration, but sat unmoving and didn't try to pull away. "Berlyne." He muttered, the sudden warmth uncomfortable for someone used to constant cold. To Daria, his skin would feel like ice itself. "Just Berlyne."

"Well, Berlyne, you'll fit in just fine in my collection." Daria said, grinning as they came to a stop in front of a gate. After a moment, the gate creaked open and they were moving again. "Good, we're arriving home now." She said, patting Berlyne's cheek with the hand that had been holding his chin. When they stopped, she stepped out and looked at Berlyne expectantly. "Come."

"I am not some trinket," Berlyne growled out when Daria told him he was the new addition to her collection, standing up but hesitating to leave the carriage. His eyes darted around, trying to look for some kind of escape and only finding fence trapping him in. "And I am not a dog."

"You're right, you're not a dog." Daria hummed, smirking darkly. "You're lower than a dog. You and your entire species are no better than dirt." She said, tugging Berlyne by the front of the straight jacket and towering over him. "I find immense joy in breaking your kind down until you give in to me, and you will give in to me, Berlyne."

Berlyne stumbled when he was tugged, but stared up at Daria and refused to back down. His eyes glinted silver, and a frost even crept over his lips, but he held the urge down and just spat back a retort, accent growing thicker; "Zat was vhat the trader said, too."

"We have different methods." Daria said with a smirk. "Traders say that as a threat. I say it as a promise." She said, looking Berlyne over once more. "Now then, it would be far easier if you weren't wearing this." She said, motioning to the straight jacket Berlyne was wearing. "So I'm going to take it off of you and replace it with something easier to deal with." She said, pulling two black cuffs from a pocket. In the light, they had a blue shine that looked eerily like the fire she had shown Berlyne. "I'm going to take the straight-jacket off of you now, so don't try anything unless you want to be lit on fire." She said before beginning to undo the straight jacket.
