Re: The Scaled Gods

"It sounds like a very important job." Oasa hummed, rather glad that there were others that had the same job, so his loss wouldn't be as sorely missed. Glancing towards the center of the festivities, he saw the others already with their Avians, and felt a rush of courage out of spite. "Serrin, I would very much like to take you with me when we go. Would you allow me to?"

Serrin was surprised, and he ducked his head a bit. "I cannot deny you, my lord. If you wish to choose me, I will not tell you no." He said gently, his feathers fluffed up on his wings. He was nervous and a bit afraid, but he would not be known as the one who denied a god.

As gently as he could, Oasa picked Serrin up into his arms, his eyes kind and full of happiness at not being rejected. "You will be treated very well, and never want for anything,"

Serrin blushed darkly, his wings flapping slightly before settling. "W-Will I be serving you, my lord?" He asked softly. "We're not told of what happens to those the gods choose."

"We can talk of the specifics later," Oasa smiled, enjoying the way Serrin blushed as he carried him towards the other reptilians there. "For now, let's eat and enjoy ourselves. Now it's also you they're celebrating,"

Serrin ducked his head a bit when he noticed the eyes of the villagers on him. "O-Oh my, I've never had this much attention before." He said lightly, his feathers fluffed up from the attention.

Oasa just laughed, setting Serrin down gently but keeping close to him so he couldn't be stolen away. He wrapped his tail around the Avian's legs loosely, beaming. "You deserve it; you are quite lovely,"

"Ah, thank you." Serrin said with a soft smile. "This is the first time I've actually spoken to one of the Gods. I usually hang back out of the way during the festivals." He explained.

"This is my first time coming to this festival, so you are the first of your kind I've spoken to as well," Oasa smiled and hoped his own inexperience would help Serrin relax, excited for the time when they could leave and speak together with no one else around.

Serrin blushed darkly and looked at Oasa in surprise. "R-Really? And you chose me to speak with first out of all others here?" He was incredibly flattered by that, and the way his feathers fluffed that would be obvious to anyone who knew Avian's well.
